New Year's Eve Outfit: Razzle Dazzle

Razzle Dazzle
New Year's Eve is around the corner, so finding the perfect outfit is definitely on my mind. It really is the one day that the more glitter you wear the better. While I wouldn't mind walking around that night dressed like a giant disco ball, I thought I would create a feminine outfit with light touches of glitter.

Happy hunting on deciding what to wear to ring in the new year, and what ever outfit you end up choosing, I hope you sparkle in it.

DIY: How to Make an Ugly Christmas Sweater

It was 8:00pm, I was already running late and I needed an ugly Christmas sweater for my first ever Ugly Sweater Christmas Party. Ugly sweater parties have become a huge trend in the last little while and even though I am sure I have some ugly sweaters creating dust somewhere, none of them were Christmas themed. So my 2 options were buy an ugly Christmas sweater (that I will probably never wear again), or make one. I went with option number 2!

I used a new sweater that I had bought from Forever 21. Since it was new I didn't glue anything on to the sweater and used safety pins to pin my creation. This way you can take off all the decorations and easily transform your ugly christmas sweater into a regular sweater again.

1. Cut a Christmas tree out of felt.
2. Cut and stick colourful pieces of paper on your tree.
3. Create a cool tree topper, I moulded my 2012 out of pipe cleaner.
4. Use some of that Christmas ribbon lying around and decorate your tree.
5. Add pom poms, because pom poms are always fun.
6. Pin all your festive tree to your sweater.

Christmas Edition: Berry Life

Merry Christmas Eve! Hope you have all gotten your shopping done, and are ready for all the holiday festivities. As this is a busy month for everyone, I hope you take a moment to slow down and enjoy the little moments. Appreciate spending time with family and friends, embrace the Christmas spirit of giving and eat to your heart's content. Here are some of the Christmas things I have been up to over the month.

Monday's Quote: "Always remember to slow down in life; live, breathe, and learn; take a look around you whenever you have time and never forget everything and every person that has the least place within your heart." --Anonymous

Falling leaves

Sweater: Forever 21; Scarf: Ross; Jeans: American Eagle; Shoes: Ross
Sometimes it is nice to throw on a comfy outfit and go play in the leaves. To spice up a basic blue jeans and white sweater outfit, I threw on one of new favourite silk scarves. Surprisingly my scarf had the same tones of colour as the leaves around me, and that my friends is how your accessorize with the seasons. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Nails: Holiday Sparkle

As I hide out today and look at the first real snowfall in Vancouver, I thought it would be a good idea to get my nails holiday ready. While I am sure that girls around the world are opting for a red nails manicure I decided to go with a pink. I started off with a base coat, used Revlon (cupid) pink nail polish and accented my ring finger with Essie (a cut above) glitter nail polish. I finished off the look with a top coat, and ta-da my nails are ready for the holidays.

Chilean Crafts

While walking around the streets of Chile I constantly stopped and looked at the crafts. Sometimes the craft stalls were were out in the open, while others were tucked away. The crafts were always colourful, creative and original. My artistic heart was set a flutter as I saw all the beautiful handmade paintings and my DIY mind was buzzing with new ideas. While I couldn't take back all the wonderful crafts I saw, I bought a few handmade paintings to decorate my room, and a cute coin purse that I now use on the regular.

100th Blog Post!

Hat: Bought in Chile; Sweater: Forever 21, T-Shirt: Forever 21,  Jeans: Forever 21, Boots: Fergalicious
It's my 100th blog post *happy dance*! I can't believe that in a few short months I have already reached my 100th blog post. While there are some months that I now look back on thinking I should have done some more blog posts, I am glad that I decided to create quality blog posts instead of quantity. As Uskar Vor continues to grow I have given myself a goal of being more consistent with posts (my big goal would be 5 posts a week). I have tons of new ideas coming up in the next few weeks including my first hair tutorial that I am very excited to share with you all. Thank you once again for all your support and I can't wait to see what the future holds for Uskar Vor!

Chilean Pisco

So I may have promised a Chilean road trip post earlier this week, but things change and instead I wanted to talk about alcohol today. Chile is known for their wine, and let me tell you the wine there is pretty fantastic. The cheapest thing you can get in Chile is wine, so wine tours are probably one of the things to check off on the "tourist things to do list". A 1.5 L bottle wine costs around $4 and if that doesn't entice you then should probably not even bother to head to Chile. But instead of doing the regular wine tour we decided to go on a Pisco tour. Pisco is also made from grapes but is distilled into a liquor. It is a very strong liquor, so strong that as soon as the sample liquor touched my toungue I knew I wasn't going to be able to drink the rest of it. So let's just say Pisco is an acquired taste. Pisco sour is a cocktail that is made with Pisco and is much more palatable, and if you want to try something that is absolutely wonderful, get a hold of some Pisco sour ice-cream.
